there’s a party in my city!

14 Nov

We went to Yo Gabba Gabba Live tonight and it was amazing. Mike & I both felt a little teary-eyed for the first 10 or 15 minutes because the atmosphere was so overwhelming. It felt like we were there to see Elvis or something, the atmosphere was so incredibly dynamic and fanatical.

Some highlights:

Biz Markee. Period. He came out, did Biz’s ‘beat of the day’ and then sat on the stage like Santa while kids went up to sit in his lap and got to do a beat into the microphone.

Keller Williams was the super music friend show and he did this cool thing where he played one instrument at a time while recording it and playing it back on a loop until it was a full song and then he started singing a song about looping & hula hooping that Hondo was singing when we got home.

Caspar Babypants was the Dancey-Dance guest and he did ‘The Peanut Butter Stomp’.

Lastly, I realized today how underrated dropping confetti & balloons from the rafters is. I might recommend it to my sister for her wedding reception next November. It feels amazing to be surrounded by fluttering colorful bits of paper.
